Prior to our intervention, the bar was dark and unsuitable, with tables too low for lunch. It was a place that was little used at lunchtime and in the evening, both by hotel guests and outside customers.
In addition to the interior architecture and decoration of the bar, the furnishings were made to measure.
Challenge
We had to create an environment that would cater for two distinct clienteles: lunchtime (business meals, professional meetings) and evening (cocktails, after-dinner drinks, etc.), while remaining in keeping with the spirit of the hotel and preserving the works of art already present.
Particular attention was paid to the lighting.
Results
A custom-designed environment adapted to two types of clientele. During the day, bright, soft lighting is used for business lunches; in the evening, subdued lighting is added to table lamps to create the intimacy of each space.
Marco Del Rey’s ceiling work, some of whose motifs are engraved on the granite brass tables, is enhanced by appropriate lighting.
Handcrafted brass tables were specially designed and manufactured by France’s best craftsman.
We have chosen to mix carefully selected materials, blending silky textures or editors’ tweeds. Similar patterns on the backs of the armchairs in gradations of monochrome add a chic touch to the ensemble.
For the curtains, we chose a lampas that has the appearance of silk, patterns inspired by the Katagamis used in Japan to paint kimonos.
The bar has been a great success since its refurbishment, and footfall continues to grow during the day and evening.
An unstructured uniformity, playing on blends of materials and fabrics.
The spirit of the place, the art, the works of art to be found in a suggestive way
The search for original materials, furniture created specifically and artistically by renowned craftsmen
